The Last November Swell, the end of a long journey, and the Start of the Holiday Season.

I don't know about you guys but I'm going to miss November. That had to be one of the most consistent months of the year. Wow. There were waves right up until the last day. Let's hope Deck Cember can be just as nice and fun.
You know were getting it good when the Westies out west keep asking about surf back here. That's always a good sign.

Speaking of good
signs. On November 30th, I got a clean bill of health from the Doctors at MGH. This mini battle of mine started in 2006. Now 9 years later, I have clarity of a healthy future.

I can't thank these two enough. They are as nice and thoughtful as they appear. I'm actually going to miss them. But not the disease.

So long Mass General Hospital. Hope I don't see you soon.

And yesterday was the annual Hampton Christmas parade. Yep they call it Christmas. Because that's what it is. Not sure how many of you remember, but 9 years ago, I was the Grand Marshall in the annual Christmas Parade. I know, I know. Me a Grand Marshall.

I rode through Hampton like General Patton riding into France.
My driver is my old friend and fellow Marine George Masten.
The same George Masten that I keep asking you all to say prayers
for. George is a Korean War and Vietnam War Veteran. He was wounded in Vietnam. He could use some
positive thoughts and prayers. Any way, this was 9 years ago. Christmas 2006.

Below is the 2015 Christmas parade. And I was on the sidelines watching the parade with my wife and grandchild. It was so much fun. Being grandparents Cory and I are able to relive the early years when our kids were caught up in the magic of Christmas.

Tis the season. Cory (Mimi), Avery, and Gramps.

I can't help but chuckle at this. Each year the parade starts off with the Fire Trucks and Police vehicles blowing their horns and sirens. And yes it is loud. Just look at the boys perched on their father's shoulders. It's pretty loud.

I wonder what that must be like. A toddler in a sea of big kids

I offer you all proof of Santa Claus. Look. This is real. It is not photoshopped. Santa and Mrs Claus. They rode through the town on the very last float. And every child in the parade went wild when they passed. The magic of Christmas lives on the seacoast.

ALL WOUNDS"

Now for Some Of My Weekly Global Observances

Well so much for my prediction last week. That didn't pan out the way we thought and had hoped it would. Now I don't want to come off as some crybaby Patriots fan....but can we talk about those Referees? Are you shitting me? There should be repercussions for the way the refs ruined that game. From no calls to the most absurd of all BAD calls. It was so frustrating to those of us at home and for those who wear the uniform. The poor coaches were at their wits end. If you saw the game, you know of which I speak.

Yes Tom, we feel your pain. Those refs need to do time.
Just awful awful awful. It was so loud in my house. Granted it was because my friend Joe really knows how to scream at a TV.

But here check this out. The cover of SI last week. They feature Mr Golden boy Brock Osweiler tossing a pass while behind him is number 99 Easly being HELD. Looks the pic closely. Easly is being roped like a wild steer.

There should of been a flag on this play. But NO. The refs were looking somewhere else. Talk about frustrated. Ass wipes.
BROCK ON MY ASS. I hope we meet those Donkeys again.

*This JUST IN. Patriots lose to Eagles 35-28. The Sky is Falling.

Here is another Ref photo that may explain a few things.
Look who's in the huddle here.

Please my friends, enjoy the weekly humiliation of the master mind behind the September 11th, 2001 attacks. The man who was behind the killing of 3,000 innocent civilians. The number two big dog of Al Qeada. Khalid Sheik Mohammed.

* Note to self, must pick up a case of Zebra Skin Wallpaper
at Home Depot.

*Thank you for all the touching PM's. emails, cards, etc etc.

* Remember PEARL HARBOR Day December 7th, 1941.

Please send positive thoughts to surf photographer Andrew Rebeiro and my dear friend Greg Brooks. Please add Mike Keefe to your list. Mike's a local surfer who has been surfing these parts for decades. Also say a prayer for my good friend Robert Gerard. And please continue to pray for local Hampton surfers Terry Morrison and Rick Fiorentini and their families. Please pray for Dave O'Connor. A good man, a great mentor to so many kids, and a wonderful school principal.
*I'm adding a close dear friend of mine. Marine SSGT George Masten. A combat Marine who served in Korea and Vietnam. He was awarded the purple heart for wounds received in Vietnam in 1967. George is battling cancer. PLEASE say a prayer for him.

Please Support ALL The photographers who contribute to Ralph's Pic Of The Week every week for the last 9 years. **Think about BUYING a HIGH RES Photo from any of the weeks on RPOTW.

MATTERAS Thanksgiving Week 2015 from Ralph's Pic Of The Week on Vimeo.

The week of Thanksgiving 2015 was one of those swells that kept "giving back" to all the local surfers.
The color of the water on the last day, and the amazing pinkish purple skies on the 20th, were just beautiful.
I'm very impressed at the way the young men and women have been surfing as of late. I've been around the block
a few times and think I have a handle on the who, what, and where around these parts. My only regret for this clip
is I didn't shoot from the water. But then again, I am nursing a few broken bones. But I'll get back out there. Especially
if I get to the West Coast and the tropics this winter. Until then, I'll be shooting down the street. Music is by Buckethead buckethead.com and Jimi Hendrix jimihendrix.com

PATRICIA October 29-30-2015 from Ralph's Pic Of The Week on Vimeo.

HURRICANE JOAQUIN

Hurricane Joaquin swept up the eastern Seaboard the first week of October, and gave every surfer from Florida to Nova Scotia some fun sized waves. And...the water temps were amazingly warm. So those of us who call New Hampshire our home, were treated with the same menu. Fun, head high, warm, and hollow surf. The boys and girls were all over this Joaquin swell, like flies on rotting seaweed. The buzz was hi-speed connections. Cell phones, text messaging, IM's, PM's, tweets, and whatever else we use.

The local crew I was with had more than their share. Kody Grondin, Weston Rogers, James Morse, Mike Stanek, Kyle Linseman, Max Fatello, Carter Walsh, Shane Forsley, and a shitload more. The music is by QWILL and Jimi. Check out QWILL at qwillmusic.com Thanks to all the surfers for making this a fun edit. See ya on the next one. Ralph
